Best Paper Award Application

The AQL 2013 Conference has instituted a new award, the AQL Best Paper Award, which is intended to encourage and reward the scholarly efforts of early-stage investigators in Quantitative Laryngology, Voice and Speech Research. This year, the Award will be given to three AQL presenters with accepted papers that are judged to have the greatest positive impact on the mission and quality of AQL 2013 among the applicants for the Award. The AQL Best Paper Award Committee members are: Sid Khosla, MD; Robert Orlikoff, PhD; Lisa Kelchner, PhD; Alessandro de Alarcon, MD; and Dimitar Deliyski, PhD. This multi-disciplinary Award Committee will rate all applications based on five criteria: Significance, Innovation, Study Research Design, Scholarly Potential of Applicant, and Overall Impact. The applicants must meet the following three criteria: 1)To have current student or trainee status (i.e. enrolled full-time student, post-doctoral fellow, medical resident or fellow, or other post-doctoral trainee); 2)To be the presenting author of the accepted AQL paper; 3)To have the most significant contribution to the presented work among the other co-authors. The recipients of the AQL Best Paper Award will accept the Award Plaque during a special ceremony during the AQL Conference. The Award will also cover the recipients' airfare from/to point of origin, ground transportation and hotel accommodation to attend AQL.

The application deadline for the AQL Best Paper Award is March 25th, 2013. The application process is very simple. It requires to follow the instruction on the following form and to upload the accepted abstract, application letter, and the applicant's Curriculum Vitae. The review process will be expedited by the Committee and the Award recipients will be informed by April 8th, 2013 via email.
